Carolina Keeper
Carolina Keepers are a neat little gizmo borrowed from freshwater bass fishing. Originally designed to hold a sliding sinker in place, they can be used for other things such as locating small octopus skirts on daisy chains, for rigging a quick break-away sinker set up, or as a cushion for hook sets when placed behind your lure heads. Soft so they will not crunch up your line (like a split shot does) when installed, Carolina Keepers are also easy to adjust. Just squeeze the Keeper with some pliers and it will move freely to where you want it. Sold eight to a pack, Carolina Keepers are available in your choice of clear or red. Commercial fishermen have long known that game fish are attracted to certain sounds. For years commercial hook & line fishermen have employed these types of rattles on their shark, swordfish, & tuna rigs. Owner Rustop
Owner Rustop 5194-059 - $5.29
Originally used by commercial hook and line fishermen to extend the life of their high carbon steel hooks. Owner Rustop works on the same principle as a sacrificial zinc anode used on boats. Steel hooks corrode (rust) in salt water because of the process of electrolysis. By applying Rustop to your steel hooks, the Rustop strip will corrode first before the hook does, thus extending the life of your hook. Comes as one 50mm x 100mm piece per pack. Cut into 25mm x 10mm strips to get 20 self adhesive pieces or cut to size as applicable. Prevents corrosion on hooks, lures, and other marine accessories.
